Dream Wedding
Cakes
Turn your dream wedding cake into a reality with Bake my Cake. Making magical memories even more special at wedding venues throughout the Scottish Borders to Edinburgh.
Big Decisions, Made Simple
Bake My Cake creates bespoke wedding cakes that are modern, elegant, and, of course, taste delicious!
Each cake is designed from scratch and tailored specifically to your needs. The cakes I make are all showstoppers and will certainly catch the eye of your guests! All my cakes are baked from scratch and I use only the finest of ingredients, from free-range eggs to the finest Belgian white chocolate. All of my cakes are coated with a layer of white chocolate buttercream to help achieve that flawless finish and sharp edge look.
As part of my service I will liaise with your wedding co-ordinator to deliver & set up your cake on the morning of the wedding so that everything is taken care of for you.
I understand it might seem a daunting process but this guide should hopefully answer any questions you might have. I've created a step by step process to help guide you through from booking, to design, to prices & flavours:
Step One: Book Your Date
In order to ensure your cake is given the attention it deserves, I only book a limited amount of wedding cakes per week. This means that peak summer months fill up fast and therefore it's advisable to book your date with me as soon as possible. You can book your cake any time after you have booked and confirmed your venue.
You don't need to know your design or even your colour scheme at this point, as I will carry out a full design consultation around 6 months before your wedding day. If you already have your cake inspiration, please feel free to include it in your enquiry.
Your wedding date can be secured in the diary with a £100 deposit. Drop me an email at bakemycake1@outlook.com, or fill out the enquiry form below to book your wedding date into our diary.
Step Two: The Design Consultation
Around 6 months before the wedding, we'll meet for a face to face design consultation. This will last approximately one hour and I will gather information from you on your colour scheme, number of guests, preferred flavours and general design ideas.
It's helpful if you can bring samples of invitations, swatches of fabric from bridesmaid dresses, pictures of flowers or any other physical or digital inspiration so I can get a feel for your ideas.
We'll talk over your ideas for a cake and I'll advise you on what might work well and do a rough sketch of our ideas.
After the meeting I'll draw a detailed sketch of your cake for you to approve or edit and provide you with an accurate quote for the final design choice.
Step Three: Choosing Your Flavours
Now this is the part the groom usually enjoys the most about your wedding planning!
As part of your booking with me, you'll receive a box of cake samples to take home after your design consultation so that you can decide which flavours you would like to have on each tier of your cake.
The current taster boxes include the following flavours:
Classic Victoria sponge
Almond and Orange
Chocolate and raspberry
Vanilla and salted caramel peanuts
Lemon and poppyseed
We also offer a range of vegan and gluten free cakes, just let me know if this needs to be taken into consideration before the design consultation.
Step Four: Payment & Prices
As my cakes are bespoke, an exact price is difficult to give until a design has been chosen. However, you can take a look at our cake guides for an idea of pricing for 2025 and 2026 weddings by clicking the buttons below to open the appropriate brochures.
I'm more than happy to guide you with a design if you have a set budget in mind that you need to stick to, please just let me know when making your booking or at the design consultation.
I recommend that you cater for at least three quarters of your total guests. The guide prices are for a plain iced cake with simple detail. Intricate details like sugar flowers, ruffles etc will add to your cost. These are the most popular sized cakes but other sizes are available and can be discussed at your design consultation.
The portion sizes are based on our standard height cakes which will give a portion size of approx 1"x 1"x 5".
Full payment is required one month before your wedding date .
Step Five: Arranging Delivery
I'm based in Coldstream in the Scottish Borders, and I'm very pleased to offer delivery to some of the popular wedding locations in the area, including Marshal Meadows, Bromouth Courtyard, Ednam House Hotel, Paxton House, Newton Hall, Wedderlie House, Doxford Barns, Netherbyres House and many more!
I understand the importance of timely and reliable delivery, especially on your wedding day, so I strive to ensure that your wedding cake arrives at your chosen location in perfect condition, exactly when you need it.
I am also able to arrange for self-collection if you'd prefer to take care of the logistics yourselves.
Step Six: Adding The Little Extras
I now offer a range of different sweet treats such as shortbread cookies, macarons & a variety of mini cakes that can be used as part of a styled desert table or as favours for your guests.
I also offer kids DIY cookie kits to keep the youngest guests entertained during the wedding.
Previous clients have loved our personalised cookies that can be used as place names & favours!
